Pa. Game Commission To Award 86 Elk Licenses
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania’s annual public drawing for dozens of coveted elk hunting licenses will take place Friday at Pennsylvania Game Commission headquarters in Harrisburg.
Each year, tens of thousands of hunters pay a $10.70 application fee for the chance to be selected for an elk license. Officials will draw the names of 86 hunters this year.
The Pocono Record reports that game commission officials have been boosting the number of licenses it allocates each year.
Hunters whose names are not drawn increase their odds of being selected by earning additional chances for each year they enter.
