Off-duty Officer Involved In Pa. Bar Shooting

BLOOMFIELD, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say an off-duty Pittsburgh officer is being investigated in the fatal shooting of a 56-year-old man during a bar fight.

The Tribune-Review says the officer is not being identified in the 2:30 a.m. shooting Sunday in Bloomfield.

The officer has been on medical leave since 2010.

The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office says a witness reported that he was fighting with Shawn Evans of Bloomfield before Evans was shot and killed at Condrins Tavern.

Spokeswoman Diane Richard says the officer is not being charged pending a review.
