Mary I. Hoover, 96, Mc- Connellsburg, died Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Fulton County Medical Center.
She was born January 19, 1917, in Beckleysville, Md., the daughter of the late Elmer and Ada Jones Ingham.
She was a 1936 graduate of Glen Rock High School in Glen Rock, Pa. She was married to the late Rev. Dr. David R. Hoover on May 20, 1944.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in McConnellsburg, since July 1, 1945. She was a charter member and past matron of Fulton Chapter 519, Order of the Eastern Star and Grand Chaplain of Pennsylvania in 1985-1986. She was also a member of the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, David R. (husband of Jan) Hoover II of McConnellsburg, and one daughter, Marilyn Barclay of Lititz, Pa., three grandchildren: Mary K. Seville, David R. Hoover III and Anna Mary Barclay; three great-grandchildren: Cody Trail, Leah Seville and Alexis Hoover; and one daughter- in- law, Linda Hoover of McCon-nellsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ada Jones Ingham; her husband, Rev. Dr. David R. Hoover; one son, Stephen Hoover; one son-in-law, Robert Barclay; two brothers: Melvin and Joshua Ingham; and one sister, Bessie Fritz.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mc- Connellsburg. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be held at Union Cemetery with the Rev. Neil Ray and Rev. Dick Bernhard officiating. Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 9: 45 a. m., on Thursday prior to the funeral service at 10:00
