Gordon M. Brown
Gordon Michael “Mike” Brown, 60, Chambersburg, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 16, 1953, in Japan, he was the son of the late James Gordon and Esther Decker Brown.
A 1971 graduate of the McConnellsburg High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force, where he learned to be a surgical technician. He was employed as a surgical technician at Chambersburg Hospital, where he served for the last 38 years.
He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed playing golf, coaching soccer, and fishing.
Surviving are four children: Julie Renee Grant (husband Jonathan) of Chambersburg; Emily Ruth Brown of Pittsburgh; Alexander Michael Brown, and Zachary Michael Brown; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Raymond Barr (wife Helen) of Chambersburg, and Kay Stout (husband Randy) of Wernersville, Pa.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg. Rev. Dr. Lois Waters will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
