Congratulations to Macey Hollenshead who will be attending Fairfield University, a Division I school in Fairfield, Conn., on a full scholarship for basketball. She is the daughter of Joe and Heather Hollenshead and a Southern Fulton graduate.

The Willing Workers of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church sponsored a trip to Caledonia Totem Pole Playhouse to see the musical “Leader of the Pack” on Sunday.

Ty and Lisa Daniels observed their 24th wedding anniversary on August 27 and Donald and Emma Jean McQuade will observe their 60th anniversary on August 29. Stanley and Janet Mellott will celebrate their 52nd anniversary on September 2 and Guy and Wanda Truax their 63rd on September 3.

North End Garden Club held its annual picnic at Cowans Gap State Park on August 27.

Candie Diffenderfer will celebrate her 50th birthday on August 31.

Dick Miller underwent surgery Monday in Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown.

Pat Weaver is home after spending some days in Fulton County Medical Center.

The American Legion Post 561 held its annual picnic on Sunday at the picnic grounds.

Needmore Fire Co. held an open mic night on Saturday night.

A back-to- school bash was held at Cito United Methodist Church over the weekend.

We had another beautiful weekend.

Congratulations to all the prize winners who had entered fair exhibits. It’s those entries that make the fair.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Mary Bookheimer who passed away August 18.

It’s hard to believe that school has started this past week.

Happy 18th birthday to Tristan Gelvin on September 2.

It was good to see a nice attendance at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday.

Shawn Berkstresser and Cole attended the Corvette show at Carlisle this past week and stopped by in Fulton County.

Household hint: Brick walls. Interior brickwork becomes dingy or pale with time. You can restore walls to original color by painting on a thin coat of boiled linseed oil. Before applying the oil, wash the bricks and allow them to dry thoroughly.
