Two Accused Of Harassment

Two Harrisonville residents face charges of harassment following a physical altercation on Circle Drive on Saturday, August 17.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have charged Michael Glen Baughman, 56, and 22-yearold Angela Marie Mellott through the office of Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne. Police alleged the duo engaged in “unwanted physical contact, which stemmed from an argument over a blanket” at 5:10 a.m.

Egg Thrown

An egg was thrown at a home located on North Third Street in McConnellsburg Borough on Friday, August 16, at 9 p.m. The victim, a 53-year- old female from McConnellsburg, told police the egg damaged a light fixture on her rear porch. Mailbox Struck In Hit-And-Run

A mailbox was struck by an unknown vehicle backing out of the state assistance office in Ayr Township along Fulton Drive on Thursday, August 15. Anyone with additional information linked to this 2:30 p.m. hit-and-run accident is urged to call state police Trooper Miller at 717- 485-3131.

Fraud Reported

A 73-year-old Needmore man told state police investigators his West Penn Power personal account information was used to obtain electrical services on a rental property between August 6, 2012, and July 3, 2013. The victim’s signature was also forged on several documents in order to process the transfer of services. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is encouraged to contact state police Trooper Doriguzzi at 717- 485-3131.

Truck Strikes Tree

A Harrisonville woman suffered minor injuries on Friday, August 9, when her westbound 2004 Ford Ranger travelled off Lincoln Highway and struck an embankment and a tree. According to state police reports, Tina D. Fittery, 51, lost control of her truck while rounding a right-hand curve on the Brush Creek Township roadway at 1:07 p.m. Fittery did not require medical transport. She will be charged with failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Vehicle Damaged

The convertible top of a vehicle parked at the Mc- Connellsburg Sheetz convenience store was cut between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, August 16. Victim is a 37-year-old male from Hustontown. Anyone having further information concerning this criminal mischief should call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Vehicle Rear-Ended

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision along Waterfall Road on Sunday, August 18, in Taylor Township.

According to reports, at 11:11 a.m. a northbound 2003 Ford Expedition driven by Ovet Villasenor-Lopez, 37, of Reading, was rear-ended by a 2002 Ford Escape operated by Megan J. Werner, 25, of Mapleton Depot, near the intersection of North Hess Road.

Villasenor-Lopez suffered minor injuries but did not require medical transport. His passengers, Virgen J. Villasenor, 24, and a 1-year-old girl, escaped injury as did Werner and her passenger, Glenn E. Werner, 26.

Driver Cited

Pennsylvania State Police have cited 18-year-old Lansdale, Pa., resident Alison K. Green for driving at unsafe speeds as a result of a single vehicle accident on Sunday, August 18. Green, reports indicate, lost control of her westbound 2001 Honda Accord while rounding a lefthand curve on Lincoln Highway. The car slid onto the berm of the Brush Creek Township roadway at 10:42 a.m. where it struck a utility pole. Green was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Vehicle Fire On Lincoln Highway

The engine compartment of a1994 Ford F-150 burst into flames while the truck was travelling eastbound on Lincoln Highway on Saturday, August 17, state police said. Driver Darryl L. Mosteller, 66, of McConnellsburg, was able to safely pull onto the berm at 12:01 p.m. where he and passenger Violet J. Hehnly, 66, also of Mc- Connellsburg, exited the truck. The truck became fully engulfed, and the fire was extinguished by the Mc- Connellsburg Volunteer Fire Co.

Two Collide In Franklin County

Two vehicles collided along Mercersburg Road in Franklin County last Tuesday evening, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg reported. Reports indicate Travis L. Gossard, 32, of Chambersburg, was backing into a driveway at 11974 Mercersburg Road at 9:40 p.m. when his 2001 Ford F- 150 was struck by a northbound 2012 Chevrolet Cruze operated by Betty G. Faunce, 77, of Harrisonville.

Faunce, who will be charged with driving too fast for roadways conditions, suffered minor injuries. She did not require medical transport. Gossard and passengers, Brent J. Hoffman, 31, Greencastle; an 8-year-old Greencastle boy; and a 4- year-old boy from Chambersburg were uninjured.

Woman Accused Of Assault

A 39-year- old McConnellsburg woman has been accused of attempting to run over another woman with her automobile by Pennsylvania State Police in Mc- Connellsburg. Police said the alleged aggravated assault involving Seabrinia Ann Green occurred at 13 Gerald Circle in Ayr Township on Wednesday, August 14. Victim in the case is a 46-yearold female, also from Mc- Connellsburg.

Burglary Reported In Bethel Township

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a burglary at 1708 Quarry Hill Road between 8 a.m. on August 7 and midnight on August 8. According to reports, burglars removed multiple items from the Bethel Township residence. Anyone having further information linked to this breakin should immediately contact state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Hair Pulled Along Woodside Drive

Fifty-two-year- old Mc- Connellsburg resident Cynthia Rhodes has been charged by state police with harassment after she allegedly pulled a woman’s hair and struck her on the legs along Woodside Drive. State police said the victim in the Wednesday, August 14, 6 p.m. incident in Ayr Township was a 66-year- old female, also from McConnellsburg.

Garbage Truck Involved In Accident

A garbage truck belonging to Weaver’s Sanitation Service was involved in a single vehicle accident along Great Cove Road on Tuesday, August 13.

According to state police, the 2003 Kenworth T300 driven by John Emerson Ebersole III, 36, of Bedford, travelled off the Belfast Township roadway at 10:25 a.m. The truck ran into a ditch and struck a tree. It was removed from the scene by Painter’s Garage.

Ebersole’s passenger, Jeffrey Scott Donelson, 27, of Breezewood, sustained minor injuries during the crash. He was transported to Fulton County Medical Center for further evaluation. Both men were wearing seat belts, state police noted.

Investigating troopers were assisted on the scene by Needmore fire and EMS.

Hustontown Residents Not Injured

Two Hustontown area residents were not injured during an August 13 accident along Route 475 near the intersection of Battle Ridge Road.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported 45-year- old Patricia Lynn Hawbaker lost control of her southbound 2001 Chevrolet Tracker, which slid off the Dublin Township roadway and onto the berm where it struck a PennDOT sign at 8:15 a.m. The vehicle suffered minor damage, and Hawbaker and her passenger, a 16- year-old male, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

State police added Penn- DOT was notified of damage to the sign.

Mailboxes Targeted

Multiple mailboxes located along Covalt and Forrest roads were damaged on Tuesday, August 13, at 1:45 a.m. Victims include a 79- year-old male from Needmore; a 63-year-old female, also of Needmore; and a 79- year- old woman from Big Cove Tannery. Anyone having additional information pertinent to this case should call state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Door Damaged

The front door of a home located at 476 Quarry Hill Road in Dublin Township suffered damage on Thursday, August 8, between 8 a.m. and 4:42 p.m. Victim is a 63- year-old male from Hustontown. Anyone with further information concerning this criminal mischief is urged to contact state police Trooper Piasecki at 717-485-3131.

Mailbox Damaged

A 52-year-old male told state police investigators his mailbox at 2179 Mill Hill Road, Warfordsburg, was damaged between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13. Information pertinent to this criminal mischief can be directed to state police Trooper Watkins at 717-485- 3131.

Car Windows Damaged

The windows of a car belonging to a 55-year-old male were damaged by a large rock sometime August 11 or August 12, state police reported. The vehicle was parked at 1 Mountain Ayr Court in McConnellsburg when the mischief occurred. Anyone having additional information linked to this mischief is asked to call state police Trooper Watkins at 717- 485-3131.

Warfordsburg Man Arrested For DUI

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg arrested a Warfordsburg area man with driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

State police said they conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Dodge Dakota at the intersection of Silver Mills and Buck Valley roads on Thursday, August 1. During the 7:07 p.m. stop for a traffic violation, police said they arrested 44-year-old James Edward Shank for driving under the influence. Shank was transported to Fulton County Medical Center where a legal blood test was conducted.

He will be cited by state police through the office of Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming.
