Samuel R. Blizzard, 74

Breezewood

Samuel R. Blizzard, 74, Breezewood, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013.

He was born on October 21, 1938, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Lester G. and Elizabeth Blizzard.

He is survived by his fiancé, Joy Clark, Breezewood; three daughters: Ann Cava, Bellmawr, N.J.; Robin, married to Ron Beyer, Arvada, Colo., and Michele Evans, Aberdeen, Md.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friends: Leo Ramsey and Stanley Griffin; and his two dogs: Buddy and Mop Flop.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Lester Blizzard.

He served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserve for 16 years until being honorably discharged.

He was a member of the Richard Vaux – Ivan Hoe Lodge F.& A. M. # 384, Philadelphia. He served as Worshipful Master in 1980.

He drove truck for Mc- Quaide Trucking as an owner/ operator and also owned and auctioneered at Sam’s Mountain Auction, Breezewood. He was an entrepreneur most of his life with many different business adventures.

He was of the Christian faith.

He enjoyed driving his truck, auctioneering and loved animals.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 19, 2013, at 2 p.m., in the chapel at Akers Funeral Home. Pastor Ronald Hott officiated.

Everett Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. No. 524 conducted services at 1:30 p.m.

Burial was held at Mountain Chapel Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
