Mary M. Bookheimer, 68

Hustontown

Mary Mae Bookheimer, 68, Hustontown, died Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg.

She was born in Harrisonville, February 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Norman B. and Helen B. (De-Shong) Strait. She was the widow of Bruce M. Bookheimer, whom she married on November 5, 1961, and he passed away on November 20, 2008.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, Greencastle Sportsmen’s Club, was a seamstress at Stanley Corp., in Chambersburg, and also worked at Huston Sportswear in Hustontown. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, auto racing, gardening, auctions, collecting Barbie dolls, cooking, knitting, crotcheting, sewing and beads. Her family will always remember her as a funloving and caring mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Dedra R. Shore of Shade Gap; a son, Bruce R. Bookheimer of Hustontown; a sister, Frances R. Barnhart of Hustontown; a brother, Kenneth L. Strait of Harrisonville; grandchildren: Tiffany Bookheimer, Amber Bookheimer and Matthew Bookheimer and a greatgranddaughter, Olivia Middaugh.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Peiffer; a brother, Raymond R. Strait; and a granddaughter, Angel Marie Bookheimer.

Funeral services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, August 22, 2013, with Pastor Chris Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Hustontown Cemetery.

There will be visitation Wednesday, August 21, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
