Green Hill School Holds Reunion

Green Hill Alumni Association held its final reunion Saturday, August 17, at Sideling Hill Christian Church fellowship hall with 79 in attendance.

The emcee for the evening was Vance Swope. After a time of fellowship the evening began by singing the alma mater. Scripture was read by Watson Swope, followed by the Lord’s Prayer. The pledge of all was led by the veterans who served our country. The invocation was given by Lyle Mellott.

The ladies aide of the church served a very delicious meal of ham and chicken with all the trimmings, homemade pies and softserved ice cream for dessert.

Teachers and students by classes were recognized. Helen (Hockensmith) DeShong and some of the students who graduated from Green Hill shared memories of their school days.

Following a DVD presenof the “History of the Green Hill School” and the door prizes, everyone joined in singing “ Blest Be The Tie That Binds.”
