Missing Tuber Sought In Philly-area River

PIPERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) – Rescue crews have been searching the Delaware River in an area near Philadelphia for a man who slipped off a tube he was using to float down the river and vanished.

Officials in Bucks County said the 30-year-old Washington, D.C., man was tubing along the river with a group of other people Saturday in Tinicum Township when he went into the water.

The Bucks County Courier Times says firefighters and rescue personnel from both sides of the river launched rescue boats and put divers in the water, and a New Jersey state helicopter also helped in the search.
