Shane William Meck, 23, McConnellsburg, was arrested for driving under the influence August 3 at 12:52 a. m. According to Mc- Connellsburg state police, his arrest followed a traffic stop for crossing the centerline of Cito Road in Ayr Township multiple times. Charges are pending further laboratory analysis of the accused’s blood sample.
Drug Paraphernalia Found
Drug paraphernalia was discovered in 18-year- old Mallory Chyanne Swope’s vehicle when she gave Mc- Connellsburg state police permission to search it during a traffic stop August 4 at 1:09 a.m. The Needmore woman had been pulled over by police for failing to use turn signals at the intersection of East Maple and Hohman streets in the borough of McConnellsburg. Charges are pending lab analysis of drug paraphernalia.
Car Hits Deer
A 2013 Ford Focus driven by Bobby C. Rossell, 30, of Hustowntown, hit a whitetailed deer while traveling north on Great Cove Road in Todd Township on August 3. McConnellsburg state police said the accident took place at 2:30 p.m. just north of Glenn Rock Lane. Rossell was wearing a seat belt and sustained a minor injury.
Someone possibly damaged the windshield of a 2004 gray Pontiac Grand Am while it was parked at the McConnellsburg Firehall at 112 East Maple Street. State police in McConnellsburg said the damage occurred on August 3 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Victim is a 26- year- old McConnellsburg man. Harassment Charges Filed
Harassment charges have been filed against Taryn Nicole Brothers, 23, Warfordsburg, for allegedly shoving a 14-year-old girl on August 2 at 1:33 p.m. State police, McConnellsburg, reported that the incident took place at 2179 Mill Hill Road, Warfordsburg.
McConnellsburg state police are investigating the shooting of a cat at 2928 Deneens Gap Road, Bethel Township, that belonged to Kelly L. Sipes, 38. The animal was shot between 6:30 p.m. July 28 and 9:30 a.m. July 30, police said. Information about this case of cruelty to animals should be reported to the state police at 717-485-3131.
Warfordsburg Man Accused Of DUI
Roger L. Black, 46, was arrested after McConnellsburg state police found him allegedly driving under the influence in Bethel Township at 4:45 p.m. on August 2. He was taken to Fulton County Medical Center where a blood test was performed. State police have filed charges against the Warfordsburg man.
Vehicles Collide In Brush Creek Twp.
A 2003 truck tractor making a left-hand turn off Route 30 onto Route 915 in Brush Creek Township failed to stay it its lane of traffic and struck a 2004 Hyundai SUV on August 2 at 7:45 a.m. The truck, McConnellsburg state police reported, did not sustain any damage, while the SUV had minor damage to its front end. The driver of the truck, who was not identified by state police, has been charged with roadways laned for traffic.
Harassment At Eagles Bar
State police at the Mc- Connellsburg barracks reported a disturbance that took place at the Eagles Bar in Licking Creek Township, Aug. 2, at 12:16 a.m. when a 26-year-old Needmore male struck a 23-year- old Harrisonville male in the face with his fist. Police did not identify the accused and allege the victim was subjected to unwanted physical contact. Harassment charges are pending further investigation and interviews of the witness and accused.
Nails Put In Tires
Someone put several nails in the tires of a vehicle belonging to an 18-year- old Hustontown female that was parked at 102B Lincoln Way West in McConnellsburg on July 26. The incident took place between 1 a.m. and 9 a. m., according to Mc- Connellsburg state police. Anyone with information should contact the state police at 717-485-3131.
Ayr Township Break-in
An unknown person or persons broke the front door window of an apartment located at 2414 Cito Road in Ayr Township, unlocked the door and entered the residence sometime between 5:30 a.m. July 24 and 2 p.m. July 29. Once inside the suspect( s) busted two ceiling tiles in the kitchen, put several dents in the back bedroom door and fled the scene. State police did not say if anything was taken. Victim is a 30-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman. Information about this break-in should be reported to the McConnellsburg state police by calling 717-485-3131.
Crime, Patrol Report Released
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have released a criminal and patrol activity report for July, during which a total of 84 criminal offenses were reported. Of those offenses, 81 were founded and 44 arrests were made. The patrol unit responded to 32 vehicular accidents, 7 hit-and-run accidents and 4 driving-underthe influence-related crashes. Eighteen people were injured in the accidents. Troopers also issued 305 written warnings, 572 citations, 30 seat-belt citations, 9 child-seat citations and 8 driving-under-the-influence citations. Seventeen motorists were assisted in July.
Two To Be Charged With Harassment
Two McConnellsburg residents are slated to be charged with harassment in connection with a fight at Gerald Circle on Wednesday, July 31.
State police reported 23- year-old James Harper and Gloria Miller, 53, will be cited through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott. Harper, police alleged, threatened to strike Miller, who hit Harper in the face at 5:20 p.m.
Man Accused Of Retail Theft
Twenty-three-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Kourtney Branche is being accused of retail theft after he allegedly stole a pack of cigarettes valued at $5.09, state police said. The retail theft occurred at Sheetz in Mc- Connellsburg Borough on Wednesday, July 31, at 6:40 p.m.
Fight Reported In Warfordsburg
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigate a verbal altercation that turned physical at 13245 Buck Valley Road on Tuesday, July 30. Police said Jeffrey Mark Chesnut, 56, of Warfordsburg, is accused of aggravated assault in the 7:10 p.m. incident in Bethel Township. Victim is a 49- year-old female, also from Warfordsburg.
Deer Struck On Interstate
An eastbound 2013 Volvo D13 struck a white-tailed deer along Interstate 70 on Monday, July 29, state police reported. Following the 5:55 p.m. accident in Brush Creek Township, driver Rocky L. Tate, 55, of Middletown, Ohio, continued eastbound for a short distance before pulling into a rest area. Tate was wearing a seat belt and was not harmed.
Man Accused Of Harassment
McConnellsburg resident Joshua Lowery has been accused of harassment by state police following an incident along North Fourth Street in McConnellsburg Borough. According to police reports, Lowery allegedly punched another McConnellsburg man in the mouth on Tuesday, July 30, at 3:30 p.m.
Two Cited For Harassment
Two individuals face charges of harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott in connection with a dispute on Tuesday, July 30. State police said 44-year-old McConnellsburg resident Joyce Lorrain Tritle and Taryn Nicole Brothers, 22, of Warfordsburg, were involved in an argument that allegedly turned physical. The fight occurred at 3:05 p. m. at 121 West Walnut Street in McConnellsburg Borough.
Women Cited In Altercation
Forty-nine-year-old Needmore resident Tammy E. Garland and Tilly E. Gray, 45, of Big Cove Tannery, are being charged with harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming. Garland and Gray are accused of striking one another during an altercation on Monday, July 29, at 6 p.m. The fight occurred at 7725 Thompson Road in Thompson Township.
McConnellsburg Man Jailed For Assault
An area man was sent to the Franklin County Jail last week in lieu of $25,000 bail following an argument at 121 West Walnut Street in Mc- Connellsburg Borough.
According to state police, 24-year-old McConnellsburg resident Michael Bret Golden was involved in an argument that turned physical on Monday, July 29. Golden is accused of punching a 22- year- old female from Mc- Connellsburg in the head repeatedly, causing swelling and bruising. Police also alleged the man kicked the woman in the ribs.
Golden faces charges of simple assault in connection with the 10:45 p.m. incident. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
Metal Poles Stolen
Twelve green- colored metal poles topped with round, orange reflectors were stolen from the area of Blacks Mountain and Frick roads between 7 a.m. on July 15 and 6 a.m. on July 30. Victim in this theft is the Taylor Township Board of Supervisors. Anyone having further information linked to this case should contact state police Trooper Miller at 717-485- 3131.
A 45-year- old McConnellsburg man told state police investigators two tarps were stolen from the back of a flatbed trailer between July 20 and 24. The trailer had been parked along Lincoln Highway just west of the intersection of Great Cove Road in Todd Township when the theft occurred.
