Nathan D. Butts Titusville, Fla., 23

Nathan Daniel Butts, 23, Titusville, Fla., died Friday, July 5, 2013, while in the hospital, with his dad by his side.

Born April 2, 1990, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Daniel C. Butts, Titusville, Fla., and Dawn Lucas Barnes, Lewistown.

He was a very intelligent, thoughtful and tender-hearted young man, with a great love for science and politics. He loved many genres of music, including classical, alternative, bluegrass and classic rock. He also avidly pursued watching and talking about documentaries regarding social issues and social injustice. He was a very private person and enjoyed spending time with his family and a few very close friends.

He is survived by his parents; his paternal grandmother, Sharlene F. Butts, Chambersburg; his maternal grandparents: Ronald and Patricia Lucas, McConnellsburg; stepfather, Bill Barnes, Lewistown; good friend, Robert Williams, Titusville; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Rachael Nicole Butts, and his grandfather, Julian C. Butts.

Private family memorial services were held Monday, July 8, in Titusville, Fla. Another family memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, in Chambersburg.

Ammen Funeral Home in Titusville, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
