Johanna E. Coursey Hagerstown, 70

Johanna Elizabeth Coursey, 70, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her home.

Born April 4, 1943, in Hustontown, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Ellis and Beatrice Elizabeth (Shaw) Snyder.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, she worked in the cafeteria at Maugansville Elementary School for 15 years.

She was a member of Paramount Brethren in Christ Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by two daughters: Joanne DeHart of Hagerstown and Betty Hull of Fannettsburg; two sons: Russell D. Coursey Jr., Maugansville, and Michael Coursey and wife Rochelle, Mercersburg; a stepdaughter, Susan Newcomer, Waynesboro; two grandchildren: Shane Michael Coursey and Kenneth Hauck; a greatgranddaughter, Kendra Hauck; and a stepgranddaughter, Nichole Newcomer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Shearer; her loving husband, Russell D. Coursey Sr.; two sons-in-law: Anthony DeHart and Steven Hull; one brother, Ronald Snyder; and three infant sisters.

Funeral services wer held Friday, July 26, at 11 a.m., at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. Pastor James Stauffer officiated. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
