George W. Carnell Needmore, 86

George W. Carnell, 86, Needmore, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Fulton County Medical Center Long-Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg.

He was born in Needmore, Pa., July 3, 1927, the son of the late Chester Holis and Lula (Mellott) Carnell.

He spent his earlier years farming the family homestead. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by a special nephew, Robert K. Stevens Sr., and wife Verna (Shank) of Needmore, who assisted in his care; niece Daisy ( Stevens) and husband Elmer Stelk of Montgomery, Ala.; niece Mary (Stevens) Mellott of Baltimore; a close cousin, Virginia Lee; and husband Gerald Mellott of Needmore, 10 great-nieces and nephews; and numerous great- great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred P. (Carnell) Stevens; and a niece, Goldie M. (Stevens) Collins.

Services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore, at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013, with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethen Cemetery, Needmore

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, August 1, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m., at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, Needmore.
