American Legion Auxiliary News

The American Legion Auxiliary meeting was called to order June 12, at 6 p.m. There were six members present. One new member was accepted into the auxiliary.

A thank-you was extended to the following for donations of flowers to decorate veterans graves on Memorial Day: Jean Davis, Elvey’s Flower Shop, Giant, Linda Hann, Wendy Pittman, Rhoda Sawers, Jeff Skiles, and Robert Skiles Jr.

Each year the Adams, Franklin, Fulton, York County Council awards $1,000 scholarships to students furthering their education. This year a young man from Fulton County has been selected. Andrew Smith of Big Cove Tannery will receive one of the scholarships. He is the son of Inga and Jim Smith. Sarah Rudasill of Adams County was also selected. She is the daughter of Sherry and Wayne Rudasill. The other scholarships went to Kevin Mulholland of York County. He is the son of Kathy and Dennis Mulholland. Best wishes to each of these young adults.

The next auxiliary meeting will be held August 14 at the American Legion Post beginning at 6:30pm. All members are invited.
