Vehicle Strikes Utility Pole
An Everett man was not injured when his westbound 1998 Mercedes travelled onto the berm and struck an embankment and a utility pole. The vehicle driven by Donald E. Harman, 63, required towing from the July 23 12:46 a.m. accident scene along Lincoln Highway. Harman will be cited by state police for multiple vehicle code violations.
Two Charged With Harassment
Two Needmore residents face charges of harassment in connection with a domestic dispute at 229 Myers Road in Thompson Township. Those charged in the 12:40 a.m. incident on Sunday, July 21, include a 34- year-old female and a 45- year-old male, who were not identified by state police. Charges are filed through Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming.
Warfordsburg Man Accused Of Taking Clothing
Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford have charged a Warfordsburg area man with theft in connection with clothes taken from a laundromat. State police alleged 42-year-old Raymond P. Truax took clothing belonging to a Breezewood man from the Hinish Car Wash on June 13.
Theft From Motor Vehicle Reported
A 20-year-old female and a 44-year-old female, both from Hustontown, reported personal items were stolen from their vehicles between 11 p.m. on July 17 and 9:55 a.m. on July 18. The vehicles were parked at 891 Taylor Road in Taylor Township when the thefts occurred. Man Charged With Lying Under Oath
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg have accused 27- year- old Harrisonville resident Lance Joshua Mellott with perjury. Police alleged Mellott made false statements while under oath during a criminal trial on August 10, 2012, in the Fulton County Courthouse. Charges against Mellott were filed through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
St. Thomas Woman Arrested For DUI
A St. Thomas woman was arrested and transported to Fulton County Medical Center for blood alcohol content testing following a traffic stop on Saturday, July 20.
According to state police, 66-year-old Mary W. Lamb was pulled over along Lincoln Highway at the intersection of Possum Hollow Road at 3:06 a.m. for a traffic violation. Lamb was alleged to be driving under the influence of alcohol. She will be charged through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
Harassment In Hustontown
State police have charged 24- year- old Kurt W. Edmonds, of Hustontown, with harassment following an altercation at 196 Church Street, Apt. B, in Taylor Township. Edmonds is accused of grabbing a 27-yearold Hustontown woman during a 1:26 a.m. dispute on Monday, July 22. Charges against Edmonds will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
DUI Arrest Made
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg made a driving-under-the-influencerelated arrest along Breezy Point Road on Saturday, July 20. Stuart Neal Totten, 49, of McConnellsburg, was pulled over in Licking Creek Township at 12:02 a.m. for a traffic violation, police said.
Totten was arrested and transported to Fulton County Medical Center for a blood alcohol content test. Charges will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
Burglary On Black Oak Road
State police troopers investigated a break-in at 2006 Black Oak Road, Warfordsburg, that occurred between June 10 and July 10. Burglars stole a Ruger Super Red Hawk .44 caliber, a Ruger Black Hawk .44 caliber, a Stihl weed whacker and a mini-chopper gas-propelled motorcycle from a shed belonging to a 46-year-old Warfordsburg woman. Access-Device Fraud Investigated
A 60-year- old McConnellsburg man told state police investigators his credit card information was used to make purchases at convenience and department stores in Pennsylvania and Maryland between July 2 and July 15.
Aluminum-framed windows were reported stolen from 2232 Gem Road in Belfast Township between noon on July 14 and 6 p.m. on July 20. Victim is a 68-yearold man from McConnellsburg. Anyone with further information concerning this theft is urged to contact state police Trooper Sprague at 717-485-3131.
Assault At Vision Quest
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg responded to an assault at Vision Quest in Brush Creek Township Friday morning. Troopers discovered 18-year-old Aleyha Shawnte Wall of Erie had allegedly spit and struck five staff members at the facility at 9:44 a.m. on Friday, July 19. Charges of aggravated assault were filed against Wall through Magisterial District Judge Tamela Heming. Wall has since been removed from the facility by her county of placement.
Motor, Car Parts Taken
A Volkswagen motor and car parts were stolen from 281 South Madden Road in Taylor Township, according to state police reports. The victim, a 73-year-old male from McConnellsburg, reported the theft occurred between July 17 and July 19. Warfordsburg Woman Arrested For DUI
A Warfordsburg woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Sunday, July 14, following a two-vehicle accident along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70.
According to state police, at 12:17 a.m. a 2008 Dodge Caliber driven by Brandy L. Pierce, 36, of Warfordsburg, rear-ended a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer operated by fellow Warfordsburg resident Doreen K. Tritle, 48. Pierce, police said, fled the scene but was located shortly after the Bethel Township accident.
Neither driver was injured and both were wearing a seat belt. The vehicles sustained minor damage.
Vehicle Rear-Ended Along Great Cove Road
A Mount Union man has been cited for following a vehicle too closely in connection with a two-vehicle collision along Great Cove Road last Tuesday morning.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported Craig D. McClure, 39, of Orrstown, slowed down for a white-tailed deer crossing the Todd Township roadway at 12:01 a.m. McClure’s 2012 Hyundai Elantra was struck from behind by a northbound 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Philip M. Heaster, 27, of Mount Union.
The men were able to drive their cars onto the berm. Both were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
Warfordsburg Woman Lifeflighted
Twenty-seven-year-old Erin Renee McCusker, of Warfordsburg, was lifeflighted after having sustained major injuries during an accident with a farm tractor.
McCusker rear-ended an International farm tractor operated by Lee James Golden, 39, of Needmore, while travelling southbound along Great Cove Road on Tuesday, July 16. The impact caused the tractor to flip over, state police in McConnellsburg reported.
Police added Golden managed to jumped clear of the tractor and landed in a culvert just south of Bard’s Auto Sales in Needmore. He suffered moderate injuries during the 6:45 p.m. accident.
State police investigators are continuing to look into the accident.
DUI Accident Investigated
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a two-vehicle accident along Lincoln Highway near Pepple’s Auction Barn.
According to reports, Alicea Edwin, 52, of Canfield, Ohio, was legally stopped in the westbound lane on Tuesday, July 16, when her 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche was struck from behind by an oncoming 2006 Ford F-350 driven by Charles James Rhodes, 30, of Harrisonville.
Neither driver was injured. Both vehicles sustained minor damages.
Police alleged Rhodes was driving under the influence of alcohol during the 11:05 a.m. accident in Licking Creek Township. He was subsequently arrested and will be charged through the office of Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.
Diesel Tank Stolen
A silver 150-gallon diesel tank belonging to Pineloft Contractors was stolen from along Iron Bridge Road, Hustontown, between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 14. Suspect is a 21-year-old McConnellsburg area man. Anyone who may have witnessed the theft or have information regarding the whereabouts of the tank is urged to contact state police Trooper Hoover at 717-485- 3131.
Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a hit-and-run accident along Corner Road in Ayr Township last Monday evening.
Police said a southbound vehicle travelled onto the berm and struck a mailbox at 1062 Corner Road at 8:40 p.m. The vehicle then fled the scene. Anyone with further information linked to this hit-and-run accident should contact state police Trooper Poole at 717-485- 3131.
Car Rolls Over
A Goldsboro, Pa., woman suffered minor injuries during a vehicle rollover along Great Cove Road on Saturday, July 13.
Aimee L. Hammon was injured when she lost control of her 2006 Toyota Corolla on the rain-soaked Dublin Township roadway, state police said. The car slid onto the berm and onto an embankment at 1:07 a.m. before running into a tree. The car rolled onto its roof and down a three-foot embankment just south of the intersection of Forbes Trail Road. Hammon was wearing a seat belt. She will be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
