Sally Gress Harrisonville, 81

Mrs. Marjorie “ Sally” (Keyser) Gress, 81, Harrisonville, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Carlisle, Pa.

Born April 17, 1932, in Ayr Township, Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Theodore R. and Catherine (Mellott) Keyser. She was the wife of George C. Gress, whom she married on February 10, 1955.

She graduated from Green Hill School, Harrisonville, Pa., in 1951 and was then home schooled in Bible studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.

She was a member of Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, Fulton County Medical Center Auxillary, McConnellsburg, and was the secretary for Licking Creek Burial Association for 40 plus years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons William T. (fiance Jackie Watkins) Gress, Hustontown; Gregory G. (husband of Tina) Gress, McConnellsburg; Alan B. (fiance Amy Stauffer) Gress, Harrisonville; Cory L. (husband of Donna) Gress, Harrisonville; sister Shirley (wife of Jack) Brant, Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sister Lena (wife of Robert) Caldwell.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a self-proclaimed domestic engineer and professional babysitter.

Funeral services will be held at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, at 2 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, with Pastor William Swope officiating. Interment will be at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.

There will be visitation Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Asbury Cemetery Association, in care of Harry Kline, 815 Circle Drive, Harrisonville, PA 17228.
