Emmertt B. Wallech Jr. Hagerstown, 79
Emmert B. Wallech Jr., 79, Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, July 20, 2013.
He was born April 4, 1934, in Marion, Pa., to the late Emmert Bertram Wallech Sr. and Araminta Ethel Knott Wallech. His wife preceded him in death on February 16, 2007.
He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard and retired as a driver for Horst Trucking Co. of Hagerstown after many years. He was an avid supporter of needy charities such as the Salvation Army, Rescue Mission and food banks.
Surviving are his children: Cheryl Giffin and husband Tom, Keedysville; Lois Romack and husband Andy, Hagerstown; Pamela Wallech, New Tazewell, Tenn.; Jamie Taboada and husband Jeff, Thurmont, Md.; sons Emmert B. Wallech III and wife Felisa, Maugansville, Md.; Douglas E. Wallech and wife Jo Ellen, Hagerstown; and Jeffrey Wallech and wife Yvonne, Mc- Connellsburg; sisters: Elizabeth Weaver and husband Melvin, Kathryn Whittington and husband Darrell, Susan Fritz and husband Rich, Sharon McAfee and husband Ray; brothers Ralph Wallech and wife Nancy, Wayne Wallech and wife Barb, Nathan Wallech, Andrew Wallech and wife Nancy, Joe Wallech and wife Ginger, and Dave Wallech and wife Barb; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and one brother, Leon Wallech.
Services were held Tuesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Clear Spring. Marty Clevenger officiated.
