The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Lois Lee Mellott, Warfordsburg, and the late Delmar Mellott got together for a picnic and some bluegrass pickin’ on the backporch at son Lex’s farm, the Mellott homeplace, near Needmore Saturday. Enjoying the evening were Lois Lee; sons Tracy and wife Dena, Lex and wife Lindsay; grandsons Dallas and wife Ann, East Norriton, Pa., and Bobby, New Orleans, La.; granddaughters Lindsey and husband Terry Bard, Kaylie and husband Robert Oakman; great-grandchildren Miles, Jordan and Max Bard, and Owen, Parker and newborn Paisley Jo Oakman; and Maggie Riggs.

Carole Mellott of Cold Springs held the Hamil reunion on Saturday. Thirtyseven family members and friends attended from out of the area and here.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Sally Gress who passed away Monday.

Dick and Grace Barton will observe their 67th wedding anniversary on July 31 and Jim and Dee Spade, 309 years on July 30.

Tobias McGarvey enjoyed his seventh birthday with his buddies with a swim party at his home on Sunday and bowling trip with his family on Saturday.

Brittany and Jared of Massachusetts visited with their grandparents, Lee and Sharon Glazier, last week.

Last week temperatures reached almost 100 degrees here for several days.

Laurel Ridge Christian Church is holding its annual Bible school this week.

Several children from this area attended Bible school at Dublin Mills last week. They were taken by bus each day.

Congratulations to manager Robert Koontz and Post 561 baseball team for winning their first American Le- gion title last Wednesday night. They lost in regional play Saturday, won Sunday and played on Monday again at Hanover.

McConnellsburg girls soccer team held its annual soccer camp last week.
