Fred And Maxine Gress To Celebrate 70th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gress Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gress Fred and Maxine Gress will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on July 30.

Originally from Fulton County they have lived at their present address at 6299 Jack Road, St. Thomas, since 1952.

The couple have two children, Carol Lee Keefer and David Gress; and five granddaughters: Pam Sites (husband of Jeff Sites); Jeni Brenneman (husband of John Brenneman); Jessica, Shelby and Courtney Gress. They also have three great-grandchildren: Emily and Colby Sites and Faith Brenneman.

Fred, a World War II Navy veteran, is a retired welder/pipefitter. He likes to read and watch TV.

He has created many woodcrafts for his friends and family, including toy boxes, porch swings, benches and clocks.

Maxine is a homemaker who likes to read. She enjoys knitting and crocheting things for her friends and family such as scarves, dishcloths, afghans and sweaters.

They also love entertaining their cat, “Libby.”
