Benefit Ride For Gracie Covert July 27

A benefit ride will be held for Gracie “Amazing Grace” Covert, a 2-1/2 year-old girl from Shirleysburg, Pa., who is in need of both a lung and heart transplant.

The event, which is open to motorcycles and classic cars, will get under way on Saturday, July 27, at 8 a.m. with registration at the Orbisonia American Legion Post 518. The ride will then begin at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 and an additional $10 per passenger.

According to event coordinator Danyelle Knepper, the ride has been logged at 120 miles round trip, with three stops along the way before ending back at the American Legion for prizes, music and food.

Knepper added she is currently soliciting donations to help with the event, including food such as hot dogs and rolls, hamburger for sloppy joes and rolls and chips. Any donations can be dropped off at the Orbisonia Legion with the donor’s name and address attached. T-shirts will be available that day for purchase, and donation jars will also be on display for anyone wishing to stop by and lend a hand to this worthy cause.

Any questions regarding the benefit ride for Gracie Covert can be directed to Knepper at 717-494-9761.
