The 23rd annual Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek kicked off Friday at Williams Grove Speedway where Greg Hodnett used a lastlap pass on Danny Dietrich to pick up the feature win.
Dietrich bounced off the wall on the final lap, allowing Hodnett to move in and steal the $5,000 prize, with Dietrich, Danny Lasoski, Brent Marks and Sam Hafertepe Jr. completing the top five. Mike Wagner made a rare Williams Grove appearance but did not transfer into the feature.
Speedweek headed to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night where Alan Krimes led all 30 laps to score the win over Fred Rahmer, Stevie Smith, Brian Montieth and Lance Dewease.
Sunday night Speedweek was back at Big Diamond Raceway where Sam Hafertpe Jr. picked up his first- ever Speedweek win over Stevie Smith, Brent Marks, Lance Dewease and Greg Hodnett.
Winchester Speedway hosted the Three State Flyers on Friday night where JT Spence recorded his fourth Late Model win of the season over Mark Pettyjohn, Gary Stuhler, Jeremy Miller and Trever Feathers.
Mother Nature had the upper hand at numerous tracks over the weekend as Friday night racing at Bedford and Trail-Way was rained out while Saturday night showers were good enough to force cancellations at Port Royal, Selinsgrove and Hagerstown speedways.
Hagerstown has rescheduled the Johnny Roberts Memorial for Late Models for August 10.
Paul Miller was leading on Lap 16 when rain forced the checkered flag early on Williams Grove Speedway’s Super Sportsman feature Saturday night. Miller beat Gary Johnston, Frankie Herr, Leroy Martin and Gregg Foster. The Grove’s Late Model feature will be made up on July 13.
Gene Knaub was the Steel Block Bandit winner Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway Park over Chase Billet, Randy Christine Jr., JR Rodriguez and Andy Fries.
