Paul A. Whitfield Breezewood, 86

Paul A. Whitfield, 86, Breezewood, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Colonial Courtyard, Bedford.

He was born September 5, 1926, in Breezewood, son of the late Russell Whitfield Sr. and Ruth (Salkeld) Whitfield. On November 28, 1950, in Mehaffey, Pa., by Rev. Ted Miller, he was united in marriage to Frances H. (Hann) Whitfield.

Along with his wife of 62 years, he is survived by son and daughter- in- law Richard Whitfield and wife Mary (Roy), York; and a grandson, Aaron Whitfield, York, Pa.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Natalie Whitfield, and a brother, Russell Whitfield Jr.

He was a member of Breezewood United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1944.

He was employed for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for more than 25 years until his retirement.

He was a member of Breezewood Lions Club and was a lifelong hobby farmer.

He enjoyed hunting and NASCAR racing.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11 a.m., in Breezewood United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Salisbury and Pastor Curtis Bryant officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Breezewood.
