John W. Hill Harrisonville, 71
John W. Hill, 71, Harrisonville, Pa., died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg.
He was born in Follensbee, W.Va., on October 8, 1941, the son of the late Robert Earl and Cleo (Thorley) Hill. He was the husband of Marjorie F. (Schooley) Hill, whom he married on April 7, 2002.
He was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, The Gideons International, the Retired Teacher’s Association, the Shriners and the Masons. He was a retired educator, coach, accomplished choir singer and director from Jefferson, Belmont and Monroe County school districts in Ohio. He also enjoyed music in all aspects.
In additon to his wife, he is survived by sons: Jon L. (husband of Kathy) Hill of Williamsport, Md.; David W. (husband of Ronda) Hill of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three stepchildren: a sister, Doris (wife of Bob) Hunter of O’Fallon, Mo.; brother William (husband of Vonnie) Hill of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one step-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hill, and sister-in-law Janice.
Memorial services were held at Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Pastor William Bair officiated. Interment was at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
