Alma V. Lawver York, 82

Alma V. Patterson Woods Lawver, 82, York, Pa., died Saturday, June 22, 2013, in her home.

Born March 12, 1931, in Fannettsburg, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Roy G. Patterson and Mabel E. Woolett Patterson Griffith.

She was a wonderful homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and daughter. She loved family gatherings and taking care of children. She also enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, playing cards, and flower arranging.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in York.

She is survived by 10 children: Virginia A. (Richards) Cummins, Fannettsburg; Linda D. Woods, York; Gloria J. ( Luther) Carlin, Spring Run; Debra K. (Keith) Kottcamp, Red Lion; Paula I. (Gary Hill) Woods of York; Donna M. (Paul) Shoop, Burnt Cabins; Steven M. (Lisa) Lawver, Virginia Beach, Va.; Scott E. ( Deborah) Woods, Orrstown; Earl G. Lawver and Nancy L. ( James) Hoover, all of York; son-inlaw David Witmer, Malta, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She was the widow of her two late husbands: Paul W. Woods and Earl Lawver Jr. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carson E. Patterson; two daughters: Barbara L. Witmer and Darlene A. Holloway; grandson Mark A. Carlin; and companion John E. Flagle.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 27, at Agett-Geisel Funeral, dry Run. Rev. Marlin A. Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Lower Path Valley Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
