Giant Bee Swarm Removed From Eastern PA Building
POTTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) – A beekeeper had to be called in to remove a giant swarm of honey bees from around a building in downtown Pottsville.
Yes, the eastern Pennsylvania community was abuzz about what could have been a sticky situation outside the Lipkin Technology Building on Tuesday. The Republican Herald reports Pottsville police Officer Joe Murton Jr. put yellow caution tape around the area around 10:30 a.m.
Beekeeper Dave Moyer and his wife, Sue, were called and found an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 bees. They used a bee vacuum to suck the bees from the side of the building and into a wooden box. He says they probably didn’t get all of them.
