Gasoline Leak Prompts Road Shutdown In SE Pa.

MALVERN, Pa. (AP) – Emergency crews are cleaning up a gasoline leak at a tank farm outside Philadelphia that has shut down part of U.S. Route 30.

The leak was reported Saturday afternoon and prompted the closure of Route 30 between Route 401 and Church Road in East Whiteland Township.

A spokesman for Buckeye Partners tells WCAU-TV that thousands of gallons of gas leaded as the result of a failed gasket. The spokesman said the leak had been contained.

A few nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution.
