Charles E. McElhaney Chambersburg, 81

Charles E. McElhaney, 81, Chambersburg, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at ManorCare Nursing Home, Chambersburg.

He was born in Hustontown, on September 24, 1931, the son of the late Harmon and Pearl (Colledge) McElhaney. He was the husband of Pauline G. (Morningstar) McElhaney, whom he married on March 3, 1962.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a SSGT in the Korean War, was employed with MISMA, MIDA and DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg for 35 years. He was a computer programmer analyst the last 16 of his 35 years at Letterkenny upon retiring in 1986.

He also enjoyed motorcycling and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Connie Seville of McConnellsburg; an Cathy Irven of Hagerstown; a stepson, Rodger Seville of Chambersburg; a brother, Jay McElhaney of McConnellsburg; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Remsburg; a brother, Marvin McElhaney, who was killed in action in Germany during World War II, and a grandson, Vaughn Seville.

Graveside services were at Union Cemetery, Mc- Connellsburg, at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Pastor William Bair officiated.
