Bible School Vacation Bible School is scheduled at Center United Methodist Church the week of June 17 through June 21, from 6:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. The theme of the week is “Kingdom Rock.” All are welcome.

Special Program Cito and McConnellsburg United Methodist churches present “Smoke On The Mountain” Friday, June 7, at 7 p.m. at Cito; Saturday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at McConnellsburg; and Sunday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at McConnell Park. Rain location is McConnellsburg United Methodist Church. Admission is free and offering will be received.

Bible School Vacation Bible School will be held at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, 2507 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, June 10-14, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. each evening. Come join for God’s Backyard Bible camp where kids have a blast serving Jesus. All are welcome.

Yard Sale North End Garden Club will hold a yard sale June 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at 248 Locust Drive to support local community service projects.

Strawberry Festival The 23rd annual Strawberry Festival is on schedule for Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15. Activities begin at 10 a.m. each day. Good food and fellowship each day. Friday evening features an old-fashioned band concert performed by the Mercersburg Community Band on the courthouse lawn at 7:30 p.m. Saturday morning kicks off with the 5K Strawberry Stampede run/walk at 9 a.m. At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday a musical concert presented by singer, songwriter and recording artist Michelle Lynn Layton. Also featured are beautiful baby and toddler contest, strawberry recipe contest, strawberry capping contest and strawberry coloring contest for kindergarten and first graders. Hancock Football Registration Hancock flag football and Hancock flag football cheer squad will hold registration for kids entering kindergarten thru second grade Friday, June 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Hancock Community Center. Car Show Calvary Independent Baptist Church will hold a car show Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at 140 McGoverns Lane, McConnellsburg. Civil War Living History Company D 3rd Maryland Volunteer

Game Night Game night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center June 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Seniors 60 and older are welcome to come and join in the games. There are card games (hand and foot, SKIP-BO, Phase 10 and 31) Dominos (regular or Mexican), Scrabble or play the shuffleboard. All are welcome to bring a game. Light refreshments will be served. Mic & Jam Night McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association will partner with the Evangel Assembly of God Church of McConnellsburg Saturday, June 15, and host a Community Outreach program at the building. Free food, free kids games and music to listen to from noon to 4 p.m. At 4 p.m., Pastor Sam Childers will speak and then at 5 p.m., alumni community building will sponsor a Mic & Jam Night featuring gospel music. Three Springs Pool Open Three Springs pool will open June 5, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., every day. Swim lessons begin the week of June 17 through June 28. Sign up at the pool before June 12.

Motorcycle Run A motorcycle run through scenic Fulton County with Pastor Sam Childers will be held June 15 and 16, sponsored by Evangel Assembly of God. Registration at the church from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments and drinks. Pastor Sam will speak at 11:45 a.m. and ride leaves church at noon. Cost is $20 per bike. Relief Center Open House Cumberland Valley Relief Center will hold an open house June 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hot dogs and ice cream sundaes and tours of the facility will be available. The center is located at 4225 Molly Pitcher Highway South, Chambersburg.

VFW Election A special election will be held at the next meeting of VFW Post 655 on June 6 to fill a vacancy in the office of post jr. vice commander. Meeting time is 6 p.m.

Carwash/Bake Sale A carwash and bake sale will be held at All Things Automotive Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit MHS cheerleading.

Hunter/Trapper Course Fulton County Hunter Trapper Education course will be held Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. From Mc- Connellsburg take Rt. 522 north about 3/4 mile. Turn right onto McGovern’s Lane and proceed approximately 2/10 mile to club. Preregistration is required. Blood Drive The Red Cross will be accepting blood donations June 13, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Faith Center in Warfordsburg.

Nutrition Awareness Program A community-based nutrition education program in collaboration with Penn State which provides nutrition education through monthly and individual classes is offered to help those interested in nutrition and safe food practices. Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month. When the third Monday is a holiday, it is held the fourth Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

McConnellsburg AA Meetings The McConnellsburg Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. every week at the Alumni Building basement, McConnellsburg.

Free Blood Pressure Screenings Free blood pressure screenings will be given at the following locations: McConnellsburg Senior Center the first Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Hann’s Apartments the second Monday of every month from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Warfordsburg Senior Center the third Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Hustontown Senior Center the third Thursday of every month from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. Festival St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will hold a festival June 22, at 4 p.m. Menu includes homemade ice cream, soups, pies and cakes. Served will be barbecues, hamburgers and hot dogs. Entertainment provided by Silver Creek band from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are looking for an evening of great food, wonderful fellowship and relaxation, please attend. The church is located five miles south of McConnellsburg on Rt. 522.

Festival Siloam United Methodist Church will hold a festival June 15 at 4 p.m. Menu will consist of homemade ice cream, soups, sandwiches, pie, etc. The church is located south on Rt. 655 from Harrisonville. Music by Country Christians.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.


PARSE Meetings Cancelled PARSE Chapter 127 will not hold meetings during the months of June, July and August. fall meetings resume in September.

Singles Meeting Knobsville Singles will meet Monday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the home of Cherie Fix. Car pool from there to Hidden Valley Restaurant in Shade Gap.

FCMC Auxilitary Meeting Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary will meet in the LTC activity room Monday, June 10, at 10 a.m. Following the meeting at noon, an appreciation luncheon will be held in the LTC dining room for the auxiliary members and volunteers.


McCbg. Bingo McConnellsburg Fire Co. will hold bingo every Monday and Friday of each week. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m.


Souders Reunion The family of Claude B. Souders reunion will be held June 9 at Cito United Methodist fellowship hall. Lunch will begin at 1 p.m.

Berkstresser Reunion The family and relatives of Kate Berkstresser and the late Herbert Berkstresser will hold a reunion Sunday, June 16, at Forbes Road Lions Park. Bring a covered dish for lunch at 1 p.m. Enjoy the afternoon of fellowship, games of horseshoe and softball. All are welcome.
