James M. Chamberlain McConnellsburg, 79
James Mont Chamberlain, 79, McConnellsburg, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, with his loving family by his bedside.
He was born in Wells Tannery, March 19, 1934, the son of the late Mont and Mary (Guillard) Chamberlain. He was the husband of Erma R. (Gress) Chamberlain, whom he married on December 24, 1955.
He served in the U. S. Army for two years while spending one year in Korea, was a member of the Mc- Connellsburg United Methodist Church for many years, a member of the VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, and was last employed by PennDOT.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mont R. (husband of Reta) Chamberlain; daughters Tina R. (wife of Gregory) Gress and Dinah S. Chamberlain, all of McConnellsburg; brothers John (husband of Margie) Chamberlain of Wells Tannery and Dan (husband of Nancy) Chamberlain of Wells Tannery; a sister, Cherie (wife of the late Clair) Fix of Fort Littleton; grandchildren: Jennifer L. Culler, Adam G. Gress and Ryan M. Chamberlain; great-grandchildren: Madisyn, Adalynn and Declan James Culler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Jo Chamberlain, and a nephew, Victor Fix.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on the farm with his Ferguson tractor and being with family. He was a devoted follower of baseball and his favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013. Pastor John Godissart officiated. Interment was at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
Military services were conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
