MVFCO Dedicates Memorial Park Area

McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. dedicated a small park area and firefighters memorial on Friday in memory of Roy W. and Emma (Lodge) Gordon, company founding members. Funding for the park project, located along South Third Street, was provided by the Gordons’ daughter, Ruth Reeder of McConnellsburg. The fire company was assisted by local stone mason Charlie Reed and Monica Schall of the Fulton County Master Gardeners. The park area is open to the public for their leisure and completed the fire company’s series of landscaping upgrades. Pictured with the Firefighters and Emergency Responders Memorial are left to right Monica Schall, master gardener; Pete Lynch, fire chief; Greg Connelly, captain; John Seville, lieutenant; Jeff Harr, deputy chief; Ed Stonecipher, asst. chief; Jamie Connelly, lieutenant; Chip Keebaugh, fireman; and park benefactor Ruth Reeder.
