Kermit R. Weist Breezewood, 75

Kermit Rei Weist 75, of Mountain Chapel Road, Breezewood, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 25, 1937, in Breezewood, a son of the late Rei and Marjorie (Baker) Weist.

He is survived by five children: Wanda, married to Mark Hsu, Dunlap, Ill.; Larry Weist, married to Stephanie, Westerville, Ohio; Carol, married to Dennis Messner, Akron, Ohio; Karen, married to Frank Carpinelli, North Canton, Ohio; and Brenda Weist, Akron, Ohio; lifelong friend Linda Earley, Waterfall; eight grandchildren: Andrew, Anna, Jessica, Jared, Christopher, Ashley, Joshua and Joseph; two greatgrandchildren: Katherine and Layla; siblings: Roger P. Weist, married to Eleanor (Smith), Everett; Terry E. Weist, married to Karen (Barton), Everett; and Barbara Ann Pasierb, Breezewood.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1957.

He was currently employed as a wireman for JLG Industries, McConnellsburg for the past 37 years.

He enjoyed farming, hunting and also collecting antiques.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 2 p.m., in the chapel at Akers Funeral Home. Rev. David Wright officiated. Burial was in Graceville Cemetery.
