Fulton County LEAD Focuses On State Issues
Community and economic development leaders met on Wednesday evening at the Thompson Township Municipal Building for the Fulton County Local Economic Activity Discussion (LEAD) to discuss a variety of issues affecting the local area.
Sen. Eichelberger updated the group on the status of the FY 2013-14 state budget and several legislative items closely tied to the budget, including pension reform. He also updated the group on the legislative redistricting process, explaining that the new 30th Senatorial District will include all of Blair and Fulton counties and portions of Cumberland, Franklin, and Huntingdon counties effective in December 2014.
In addition to the state budget, a PennDOT representative discussed improvements to the public involvement process for transportation projects in District 9-0. Other topics discussed at the meeting included an update on the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) funding for drinking water, wastewater and stormwater projects.
LEADs are a unique opportunity for local leaders involved in community and economic development to share information and work collaboratively on important issues facing the county.
