Memorial Day Services The 69th Annual Memorial Day service will be held at Wells Valley United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., Monday, May 27, 2013. Paul Crawford Jr. will be the quest speaker. A light luncheon will be provided after the service. The public is invited to attend.
Memorial Service The Damascus Cemetery Assoc. will hold its 77th annual Memorial Service on May 26. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mac Miller of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren as speaker. Judy Youngblood of Berkeley Springs will provide special music. Lunch will be served in the social room at the church at noon. All are welcome.
Memorial Services “The Home Of The Brave,” a musical celebrating America’s courage and commitment, will be held Saturday, May 25, at 7 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church; Sunday, May 26, at 9:30 a.m., during worship at Cito United Methodist Church; and Monday, May 27, at 7 p.m., at McConnell Park band shell. In the event of rain, Monday’s concert will be held at McConnellsburg United Methodist Church.

5-K Stilt Walk Gather family and friends and walk alongside Brian Snyder on Saturday, June 8, as he makes a 5K trek on stilts at Giant Steps Walk for A Wish to benefit Make-AWish Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia. The 5K run will take place at 11 a.m., with the walk beginning at 1 p.m., from Juniata Crossing to Juniata Trading Co., Route 30. Registration is $15 and $20 day of the event. Youth Shoot Fulton Co. Pistol & Rifle Club will hold a youth shoot May 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. Registration is from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Open to all youths to age 16.
Motorcycle Ride Broad Top Community Center is holding its annual motorcycle ride June 2. Registration will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. There will be a ride 100 miles through beautiful central PA. Senior Center Social Night Warfordsburg Senior Center will hold a social May 31 for seniors 60 and over to come and enjoy the evening of food, dancing or just listening to the music. Motorcycle Run A motorcycle run through scenic Fulton County with Pastor Sam Childers will be held June 15 and 16, sponsored by Evangel Assembly of God. Registration at the church from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments and drinks. Pastor Sam will speak at 11:45 a.m. and ride leaves church at noon. Cost is $20 per bike. Hunter/Trapper Course Fulton County Hunter Trapper Education course will be held Saturday, June 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. From Mc- Connellsburg take Rt. 522 north about 3/4 mile. Turn right onto McGovern’s Lane and proceed approximately 2/10 mile to club. Preregistration is required. 55-Alive Driving Class Warfordsburg Senior Center will offer the for 55-Alive/Mature Diving classes May 30 and 31. Classes are from 9:30 a.m. to noon and two days of classes are required. Preregister, either in person or by calling the center. Checks are made payable to AARP for $14 (per person nonmember) or $12 (per person AARP member). Warfordsburg Senior Center is located at 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg. Graduates of the class, age 55 and over, will be eligible for the 3-year auto insurance discounts. If planning on staying for lunch following the class, please be sure to make reservations when registering. There are no tests involved.
Civil War Book Available Fulton County Veterans of the Civil War Volume I is now available. This book contains 189 photos and 308 veterans in 158 pages. Cost is $26 plus $4. postage. The book has many veterans of prominent Fulton County families. These families all had multiple members in the Civil War. Community Victory Garden The Fulton County Master Gardeners would like to invite the public to participate in the second-year community Victory Garden within McConnellsburg Borough Wednesdays, to October 30, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Second Street behind the McConnellsburg Firehall. Festival St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will hold a festival June 22, at 4 p.m. Menu includes homemade ice cream, soups, pies and cakes. Served will be barbecues, hamburgers and hot dogs. Entertainment provided by Silver Creek band from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you are looking for an evening of great food, wonderful fellowship and relaxation, please attend. The church is located five miles south of McConnellsburg on Rt. 522.
Ice Cream Festival Center United Methodist Church will hold its first ice cream festival of the year Saturday, June 1, beginning at 4 p.m. Turkey dinners will be available with filling, mashed potatoes, green beans or corn, applesauce or coleslaw. Also available will be sandwiches, soup, pie, cake and ice cream. The church is located one-half mile off Rt. 655, five miles north of Hustontown on Dublin Mills Road. Also mark calendars for July 13 and August 24 for festivals coming up. Bean Soup Dinner The annual bean soup dinner at Clear Ridge Community Building will be held May 25 at 11 a.m. Ham dinners, sandwiches, pies and ice cream will be available.

Library Teen Board Meeting Fulton County Library Teen Advisory Board will meet Friday, May 31, in the library community room at 5 p.m. Following their monthly meeting, the teens will participate in games, crafts and other fun activities.

Bingo Ashlyn’s Angels will hold a cash bingo June 2, 2013, at McConnellsburg Volunteer Firehall. Doors open at 11 a.m. and bingo starts at 1 p.m. Light refreshment will be available to purchase. Advance tickets $20, at the door $25. Payouts will be determined by number of tickets sold. Proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund that will be distributed to all three county schools.
