Dorothy A. Minnier
Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Sara (Bruner) Attick, and was a graduate of Hershey High School.
She was a retired team librarian from Capital Blue Cross and was a member of Crosspoint United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, where she was a former member of the choir and kitchen crew.
She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Areme Chapter; volunteered serving meals to senior citizens; and enjoyed ceramics, reading, Big Band music and cheering on the Washington Redskins.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by several siblings and her beloved husband, Fred D. Minnier.
Surviving are her children: Gary (and his wife, Joy) Minnier, McConnellsburg; and LaCinda “Cindy” (and her husband, Mark) Scheitle, Chambersburg; three brothers: Lee Atticks, Harrisburg; Samuel Attick, Palmyra; and Fred Attick, Sugarloaf; four sisters: Jean Blackner, Penbrook; Nancy Kimberlin, Elizabethtown; Sara Sheaffer, Palmyra; and Carolyn Kresge, Harrisburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013, in her church in Harrisburg. Rev. Jennifer Williams and Rev. Dr. Bradley Brown officiated. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. An Eastern Star service was held at 10:45 a.m.
Arrangements were by Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg.
