Hearing Set For Colonel Facing Porn Charges
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (AP) – A colonel at the U.S. Army War College in central Pennsylvania is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on charges that he had child pornography on his computer.
Fifty-five-year- old Col. Robert J. Rice is facing 120 counts of possession of child pornography, charges that were filed last month.
Police say that was after they found about 10,000 images of suspected child pornography on Rice’s computer.
PennLive.com reports Rice is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Mechanicsburg.
Court documents indicate Rice’s wife saw the images on the computer and alerted authorities. Rice's attorney, Joseph Caraciolo, has said his client never put the images on his computer and was instead the victim of identity theft.
