Funeral Set For Pa. Chief Killed Directing Traffic
LOGANVILLE, Pa. (AP) – A funeral and procession will be held for a fire chief killed by a drunk driver while he was directing traffic at an accident scene in central Pennsylvania.
Loganville Fire Chief Rodney Miller was struck and killed while directing traffic Saturday on Interstate 83.
Thirty-two-year-old Matthew Diehl has been charged with homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence.
Officials are warning that the procession for Miller’s funeral, which will include a large number of fire vehicles and equipment, could close roads and cause traffic jams on Friday morning.
The funeral is set for Friday at Grace Fellowship Church in York.
Southwestern Regional Police urged motorists to use alternative routes when possible and to use extra caution if they must travel through the area.
