Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

We can’t complain about the beautiful weather we had this weekend and the beauty of all these trees out in bloom. As we look around we have to enjoy God’s masterpiece. We just neglect to give him the credit.

Joan Koon brought the message at Knobsville United Methodist Church Sunday morning due to Pastor Bill recuperating from surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery.

This weekend brings about a lot of activities in honor of Mother. A special place for a great smorgasbord meal is the annual din- ner at Hustontown Firehall for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12, at 11 a.m. A great place to treat Mother.

Glad to report Mike Helman is doing well after surgery. Hope he continues to a full recovery.

A nice crowd attended the auction up at Sam’s on Route 30 Saturday evening. Always a lot of items for sale. There were a lot of flowering plants and green vegetables as well as other items.

A large, several family garage sale will be held at Kate Berkstresser’s on May 10 and 11. All kinds of items.

Happy birthday wishes to Harriet Hill on May 8; Olive Chesnut, May 8; Rheon Gelvin, May 8; Kate Berkstresser, May 15; and Donald and Dale Sigel, May 18.

Household Hint: Wash your house once a year. Mix one cup of extra strength detergent and one quart of chlorine bleach in three gallons of water. Use long-handled mop to scrub the siding and rinse well with garden hose.
