Edward A. Peffer McConnellsburg, 83

Edward A. Peffer, 83, Mc- Connellsburg, Pa., died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Fulton County Medical Center, Mc- Connellsburg, Pa.

He was born in Robertsdale, Pa., March 4, 1930, the son of the late William Elias and Rose (Julian) Peffer. He was the husband of Dolly A. (Ray) Peffer, whom he married on March 30, 1974.

He served in the U. S. Army Air Force as a corporal in the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mc- Connellsburg.

He was a life member of VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg, where he also was a past commander; and a member of the American Legion Post #561 of McConnellsburg.

He was a long distance trucker in his younger years, owned and operated Mountain View Hotel in Broad Top, from 1978 to 1994 and also worked for Dash Coal Co. while operating the hotel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Patricia J. Winchell of Millersville, Pa.; and Paula E. Cook of Mercersburg; sisters: Esther Rabenstein of Saxton; and Elanore Sheets of Arkansas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Cover; a sister, Goldie; and brothers: William, Miles and Benjamen Peffer.

Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mc- Connellsburg, at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013, with Pastor Neil Ray officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.

There will be visitation Thursday, April 25, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mc- Connellsburg. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.
