Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone was out enjoying the beautiful weekend, especially those beautiful tree blossoms. We just don’t take notice to what beauty the Master creates.

Fran Mellott is spending some time with her sister, Lois Clark, and relatives. It’s always good to hear she is back in her home town.

Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will have their annual Mother’s Day smorgasbord meal starting at 11 a.m. on Mother’s Day. This is a good place to take your mother for a good meal and also support the fire company.

Sorry to hear Pastor Bill and Joan are leaving us for retirement, but we wish them well as they go on with another part of their life. There will be a celebration of ministry worship service honoring Pastor Bill on Saturday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Knobsville United Methodist Church. A light luncheon reception will follow at Hustontown Firehall.

Pastor Bill is scheduled for surgery. We send get well wishes to him.

Jesse Topper of Bedford United Methodist Church will be the guest speaker for Sunday, April 28 at Knobsville United Methodist Church.

Troy Miller returned home after having surgery at Pittsburgh. Glad to report he is doing well. We send complete recovery wishes his way.

An open stage, sponsored by Hustontown Fire Co., will be held Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Everyone is invited to come and share their talent or just come out and enjoy the talent of others.

Household Hint: Remove lint. You don’t need a fancy brush or roller to get lint off. Just wrap some masking or scotch tape around your hand, sticky side out, and lift the lint away.
