Car Hits Deer

Two Wood, Pa., residents recently escaped harm when their eastbound 2007 Ford Focus struck a white-tailed deer along a Wells Township roadway.

According to state police reports, Robert J. Mayne Jr., 21, struck the deer on Wednesday, April 3, when it jumped onto New Grenada Highway from an embankment along the southern berm. The car struck the deer, travelled off the road and went up an embankment. The car rolled onto its driver’s side when it came back down the embankment at 12:45 a.m. The Ford Focus came to a rest on its wheels, police noted.

Mayne and his passenger 46-year-old Robert J. Mayne Sr., were both wearing seatbelts. They were not injured.
