Harold G. DeShong
Harold G. Nhyle (Nine) DeShong, 85, formerly of Bensalem, Pa., died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Wesley Enhanced Living, Philadelphia, Pa.
Born August 2, 1927, he was the son of the late Thomas O. and Luemma E. (Chesnut) DeShong of Harrisonville, Pa. He was married to Josephine (Keadle) DeShong who passed away on March 31, 2001.
He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Bristol Lodge Fraternal Order of the Moose where he received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.
He was an operating engineer from 1955 until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela,(wife of Dave) Ehling of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandsons: David (husband of Suzanne) Ehling and Nicholas Ehling; great grandchildren: David, Samantha, Sophia and Nicholas, all of Philadelphia; and a sister, Phyllis (wife of Franklin) Reel of Harrisonville.
He was preceded in death by sisters: Cloran Ranck, Rosaline Kahn and Betty Taylor; and brothers: Ellis, Bob, Tom and Sheldon DeShong.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Burns Funeral Home, Phila delphia. Interment was in Rosedale Memorial Park, Philadelphia, Pa.
