New And Improved Youth Field Day To Be Held
To The Editor:
I want to inform the community about an outstanding youth field day program that will be offered by the Fulton County Sportsmen for Youth organization to our youth (ages 10-15) on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Camp Sinoquipe, Fort Littleton. The program will offer a wide variety of stations designed to provide an interesting, educational and fun experience to our youth as they explore various outdoor experiences. These activities will include dog retrieval demonstrations, participation in using .22 rifles, shotguns, black powder rifles and archery, boating, fishing, fly tying and casting, building bluebird boxes, ATV safety and trapping. In addition, passive stations will be available to offer education material from th PA Game Commission, PA Fish and Boat Commission, National Wild Turkey Federation, National Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, local sportsmen clubs, sporting goods stores and local taxidermists. A lunch will be provided and pre-registration is mandatory at http://www.registered.com/events/view/32360.
The entire day’s activities are made available free of charge to the participants through the generous donation of funds from individuals, businesses and organizations. An annual budget for this year’s event will exceed $5,000 to cover the expenses. Initial contributions have been received however additional funds are necessary to fully fund the activities at this year’s field day. Individuals, businesses and organizations may send donations to John K. Johnston, Sec./Treas., Fulton County Sportsmen for Youth, PO Box 484, McConnellsburg, PA 17233. The goal of the organization is to provide up to 100 youth with an exciting day full of hands-on opportunities to develop an interest in outdoor recreational activities. Thank you for your consideration.
John K. Johnston,
Sportsmen for Youth
