This weekend presented us with nice weather and only a little cool.

Good luck to all the fishermen.

A nice crowd attended the auction at Sam’s on Saturday evening on Route 30.

Hustontown Area Volun- teer Fire Co. will sponsor their annual Mother’s Day smorgasbord on Sunday, May 12 at 11 a.m. A variety of meats, vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages will be featured.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary will hold their monthly meetings the third Wednesday of every other month. The next meeting will be the third week of May at 6 p.m. All members are urged to attend.

Glad to hear they had a good day on Saturday at Knobsville United Methodist Church for the rummage sale.

Sorry to hear Joan Houck isn’t doing so well. Our prayers and get well wishes to her.

June Bennett of Carlisle, spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Kate Berkstresser and also with Harvey and Pat Berkstresser.

Visitors with June Bennett at the home of Kate Berkstresser on Saturday were Sally Mumma of Burnt Cabins, and Dick and Cathy Rhodes of Mercersburg.

Happy birthday wishes to Lois Bard on April 20; Alice Walker on April 20 and Nelson Walker on April 30.

Household Hint: To get chewing gum out of fabric try freezing material. When gum becomes brittle it will break and peel off. If you still have some spots remaining use white vinegar.
