Southern Fulton 2

Fannett-Metal’s Blaire Lauthers and Marley Elbin of Southern Fulton squared off last Thursday in a doubleheader that saw Fannett- Metal coming out on top in game one by the score of 3- 2. Elbin lasted eight innings for the Lady Indians with 12 strikeouts, two walks, two hits and two earned runs. Kayla Wertz recorded two singles.

Southern Fulton Indian Marley Elbin recorded her fourth loss of the season last Thursday when Fannett- Metal clinched an 11-1 win in five innings. Elbin had two strikeouts, six walks, two hits and five earned runs in the opening two innings of the Sideling Hill League game. Maddie Mellott had the team’s only extra-base hit, a double.

Northern Bedford 2

The Forbes Road Cardinals picked up their third consecutive win of the season last Thursday evening, sliding past Northern Bedford 3-2 in game one of a double header. Winning pitcher Haley Lashinsky tallied five strikeouts, six hits and one earned run.

Northern Bedford and Forbes Road battled it out at the plate with the Lady Panthers prevailing by the score of 16-12, marking the first loss of the season for the Cardinals. Pitcher Braylin Hohman scattered four strikeouts across seven innings of play and also tallied four walks, 16 hits and 15 earned runs. Corri Parsons closed out the Sideling Hill League match batting fourfor four with a homer, and Hohman and Haley Lashinksky both went two-forfour. One of Lashinsky’s hits was a double.

McConnellsburg 3

The McConnellsburg Lady Spartans committed six errors in the opening game of a double-header that ended with Southern Huntingdon clinching the Sideling Hill League match by the score of 19-3. Gabby Danner lasted more than two innings for the Spartans with two strikeouts, three walks, eight hits and five earned runs. Danner also had the team’s only extrabase hit, a double.

McConnellsburg 4

Southern Huntingdon rounded out last Thursday night winning both games in a double-header against Mc- Connellsburg. Two Lady Spartans controlled the team’s pitching effort, combining for one strikeout, nine walks, 11 hits and nine earned runs. Gabby Danner connected for a double.

Northern Bedford 4

Kylie Keefer led the Mc- Connellsburg Lady Spartans at the plate last Tuesday evening, connecting for two triples and two RBIs during a 5-4 Sideling Hill League win over Northern Bedford. Gabby Danner picked up her first win of the year, striking out nine batters and allowing four walks, six hits and only one earned run.

Tussey Mountain 4

The 10-run rule came into play last Tuesday evening when Forbes Road easily downed the Tussey Mountain Titans 14-4. Winning pitcher Haley Lashinsky picked up her second victory of the season, striking out eight batters and giving up four hits, one walk and two earned runs over six innings. Braylin Hohman had another big day at the plate for the Lady Cardinals batting three-for-three with a double, while Lashinksy was two-for-three with a double and a sacrifice fly.

Southern Fulton’s lead dwindled away last Tuesday when Chestnut Ridge had three base runners cross home plate in the eighth inning for a 6-3 Sideling Hill League win. Pitcher Marley Elbin struck out a whopping 11 batters while also walking seven and giving up six hits and four earned runs. Teammate Maddie Mellott connected for a two RBI double, and Allison Spade also connected for an extrabase hit, a double.

Fannett-Metal 0 Southern Fulton took command early on and cruised to a 15-0 Sideling Hill League win over Fannett- Metal last Thursday. Pitcher Casey Elbin recorded his first win of the season, tallying seven strikeouts and three walks. Teammates Connor Litton and Jordan Clingerman both connected for doubles.

After getting off to a good start in game one, the Southern Fulton Indians kept their bats alive in the final game of last Thursday’s double-header. Downing Fannett-Metal 10-0, the Indians were led by pitcher Jordan Clingerman, who posted seven strikeouts, two walks and one hit. Zane Baker, Dillon Lashley and Nick Smartt all recorded doubles during the Sideling Hill League game. Both Baker and Lashley finished out the day batting three-forfour.

Pitcher Casey Wade made a nice debut for the Forbes Road Cardinals, who fell short against Northern Bedford last Thursday evening. During the 5-3 Sideling Hill League loss, Wade struck out eight batters, walked four and gave up four hits and two earned runs. Teammate Kyle Schoen produced two RBIs.

Forbes Road had four pitchers take to the mound last Thursday evening in the second game of a doubleheader that ended in a 17-1 trouncing at the hands of Northern Bedford. Starting pitcher Kyle Schoen took the loss with four strikeouts, four walks, four hits and three earned runs over three innings. Casey Wade had the team’s only extra-base hit, a double.

Southern Huntingdon 1

McConnellsburg preserved its winning record last Thursdayby downing Southern Huntingdon in seven innings. Winning the game 5-1, the Spartans were led by winning pitcher Jesse Swope, who had three strikeouts, two walks, four hits and one earned run. J.T. Barnard picked up the save with two strikeouts in the final inning. Beau Wilson batted two-fortwo and drove in a pair of runs, and teammate Dalton Garlock added a double.

Southern Huntingdon 9

Tying last Thursday’s game in the sixth inning, Southern Huntingdon saw its hopes of picking up a win dwindle when McConnellsburg pushed a runner across the plate in the eighth inning. Winning the game by the narrow score of 10-9, Spartan pitcher J.T. Barnard recorded the win with six strikeouts, three walks, five hits and one earned run. Tristin Deneen had a double while batting three-for-five, and Jesse Swope had three RBIs and a double.

Northern Bedford 2

McConnellsburg bumped up its season record to 3-0 last Tuesday night when the Spartans defeated the Northern Bedford Panthers 8-2. To go along with that victory, winning pitcher Cody Truax recorded his third win of the season. Truax lasted seven innings with one strikeout, one walk, two hits and one earned run. Jesse Swope had a perfect night at the plate, batting three-forthree with four RBIs. Meanwhile, teammates Beau Wilson and Dalton Garlock went two-for-three. Wilson also recorded three RBIs.

Tussey Mountain 1

The Forbes Road Cardinals recorded four hits last Tuesday night during a 4-1 Sideling Hill League win over the Tussey Mountain Titans. Their first victory of the season, the Cardinals were led by relief pitcher Hunter Horton, who tallied four hits and four strikeouts during the final four innings of the game. Kyle Schoen had the team’s only extra-base hit, a double.

Chestnut Ridge 0

Southern Fulton jumped out to a seven-run lead in the first inning last Tuesday and cruised onto a 10-0 Sideling Hill League victory over Chestnut Ridge. Pitcher Connor Litton opened the game on the mound for the Indians with five strikeouts and one walk over two innings. Jordan Clingerman went two-for-three at the plate, and L.A. Swope added a double.

Corey Hill picked up a trio of first-place wins last Thursday when the McConnellsburg Spartans took top honors in a quad meet against Hancock, Silver Oak and Calvary Christian. Hill clinched first place in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and 100 meter, while teammate J.J. Martz garnered first-place wins in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter events. Nick Daniels came out on top in the shot put and discuss, and Macklin Hawkins was first in the 800 meter and ran a leg for the victorious 3200- and 1600- meter relay teams. Hawkins was joined on the 3200 meter team by Sam Gordon, Patrick Keefer and Matt Snyder and on the 1600 team by Hunter Miller, Snyder and Hill.

Jacob Ashkettle picked up a trio of wins last Thurs- day for the Southern Fulton Indians, who swept both Berlin and Meyersdale. Ashkettle garnered a firstplace win in the 400 meter as well as the high and long jumps, while Tyler Richards grabbed top honors in the 1600 meter and 200 meter. Other winners included Dylan Cross (110 hurdles), Mason Bard (300 hurdles), Josh Voight (3200), 1600 relay team, Luke Wright (triple jump) and Alex Seburn (shot put).

Calvary Christian 1

Samantha Roberts and Nikki Fleming had a big day for the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans, who prevailed in a meet over Hancock and Calvary Christian last Thursday. Fleming was victorious in the high jump and triple jump, while Roberts picked up wins in the shot put and discus. Tierra Lake took top honors in the 100 meter and ran a leg for the winning 400 meter relay team of Olivia Mills, Roberts and Shania Gelvin. Mina Wilt grabbed a firstplace win in the 400 meter and ran a leg for the winning 3200 relay and 800 relay teams. Teammates on the 3200 relay team were Breanna Worthing, Cora Wilt and Morghan Taylor, and 800 meter relay teammates also included Worthing, Erica Carbaugh and Gelvin. Mills rounded out the day with a win in the long jump.

Meyersdale 51 Berlin 98, Southern Fulton 52

Southern Fulton picked up three first-place victories and tied for first in another event to split a meet against Meyersdale and Berlin. Macey Hollenshead and Ashley Roman took top honors in the 1600 meter and shot put, respectively, and the 1600 meter relay team also placed first. Meanwhile, Celina Merchant tied for first place in the 300 meter hurdles.
