FR Lions Club News

Approximately 175 children participated in Forbes Road Lions annual Easter egg hunt on April 2. Thanks to all kids and parents for their cooperation and 28 Lion members who helped in making this event a success.

The chicken barbecues are scheduled for Saturdays, June 8 and August 10. Tickets are available from any Forbes Road Lions member. The club is also raffling off a chain saw, pedal tractor, two hog halves and cash to support local Lions Club projects.

Newly elected officers for 2013-14 are: immediate past president - Greg Henry; president - Jarrod Sharpe; first vice president - Clair Hawkins; second vice president - Boyd Gelvin; third vice president - Randy Brantner; secretary - Richard Price; treasurer - Joe Sharpe; tail twister - Shane Stiffler; lion tamer - Fran Hoover; and directors – Greg Henry, Neil Berkstresser, Bob Johnson and Mike Keebaugh.

New members joining since last year are Shane Stiffler, Issac Strait and Wayne Strait. The club now has 69 members and welcomes all to join. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month and beginning May 7 will be held at Lions Park behind Forbes Road Elementary School. Prospective members are welcome to come to any meeting.
