We couldn’t ask for a nicer weekend weatherwise.The beauty of spring flowers and everything are showing those beautiful colors. We sometimes don’t take time to notice the Master’s work.

June Bennett of Carlisle spent Friday and Saturday with her mother, Kate Berkstreser.

Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. Shells will be furnished. Turkeys and hams will be prizes. No lunch will be available. This will be the last shooting match of the season. The firemen wish to thank everyone who supported them.We hope to see you next fall.

An annual spring rummage sale will be held Saturday, April 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Chicken corn soup and baked goods will be available.

There will be a large garage sale at the home of Kate Berkstresser, 397 Pitt Street, Hustontown, April 12 and 13 at 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. All kinds of items and flower plants for sale.

We send get well wishes to Pastor Bill, who has an injured arm.

It was good to have some folks back at Knobsville United Methodist Church Sunday morning. Everyone is welcome at Knobsville. Sunday morning church services are at 8:30 a.m. and Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Household Hint: Cloves for coughs. Another simple cough remedy is a whole clove. Pop one in your mouth and suck on it. You’ll find that it produces a slight burning effect that quiets lots of tickles in the throat better than the sugary cough drops on the market and cheaper.
