Forbes Road 4 Southern Fulton 3

Forbes Road picked up its first win of the season last Thursday evening, slipping by Southern Fulton by the narrow score of 4-3. Haley Lashinsky recorded the win for the Lady Cardinals with 12 strikeouts, four hits and only two earned runs. Teammate Braylin Hohman went three-for-four at the plate with a triple, and Sam Clippinger and Corri Parsons both added doubles.

Southern Fulton was led by pitcher Marley Elbin, who posted 13 strikeouts, two walks, six hits and two earned runs. Elbin also led her team at the plate with two singles. Maddie Mellott also had a hit and two RBIs.

Baseball

McConnellsburg 5 Tussey Mountain 4

Tussey Mountain’s lead dwindled away in the seventh inning with Mc- Connellsburg pulling ahead for the 5-4 Sideling Hill League win last Thursday afternoon.

Cody Truax finished out the game with slightly more than one inning on the mound and recorded the win. Truax had one strikeout and one walk and, along with fellow pitchers Jesse Swope and Taylor Souders, didn’t walk any Titan batters.

Southern Fulton 9 Forbes Road 2

Brothers Connor and Brayden Litton had a big day at the plate for the Southern Fulton Indians, who dominated Forbes Road last Thursday 9-2. Conner batted three-for-three with a double and three RBIs, while Brayden added two hits, which included a double, and two RBIs. Jordan Clingerman finished out the final four innings on the mound for the win. Clingerman tallied 10 strikeouts, six walks and one hit.

Pitcher Kyle Schoen took the loss for the Cardinals with two strikeouts, one walk, seven hits and six earned runs. Casey Wade had the team’s only extrabase hit, a double.
