Mountain House Cited For Liquor Violation

The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement through the Pennsylvania State Police cited the Mountain House Bar & Grill in McConnellsburg with a liquor law violation. Employees at the bar allegedly sold alcoholic beverages after its malt beverage license had expired on January 31. The alleged violation reportedly occurred on February 3.

Prescription Pills Stolen

Several pain killers prescribed to a 29-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman were stolen form the 800 block of East Poplar Street, Mc- Connellsburg, between March 27 and March 29. Anyone having further information pertinent to this theft should contact state police Trooper Remeikas at 717-485-3131.

Harassment Investigated

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated an alleged harassment that occurred at 10660 Old 126, Crystal Spring, on Sunday, March 31. Fifty-sevenyear old Floyd Albert Collis Jr. of Crystal Spring reportedly slapped and hit a 27- year- old female from Keedysville, Md., in the head at 2:15 p.m. Charges of harassment will be filed against Collis through Magisterial District Judge Tamela Bard.

Local Woman Accused Of Stealing Money

A McConnellsburg woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly deposited her ex-boyfriend’s unemployment check into her own bank account. Thirtyseven year- old Julie Ann (Straley) Lininger is charged with identity theft, accessdevice fraud, computer trespass and theft by unlawful taking in connection with $722 deposited into her account. Victim in the case is a Waynesboro area man.

Vehicle Window Damaged

The rear window of a 2009 Ford Focus parked in the rear parking lot at Southern Fulton Junior/Senior High School was damaged between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26. Victim is a 30-year-old woman from Waynesboro. Anyone having further information linked to this case should contact state police Trooper Watkins at 717-485-3131.

Local Man Charged With Harassment

Forty-seven-year-old Harrisonville area resident Terry Lee Martin is facing charges of harassment following an incident at 14697 Pleasant Ridge Road in Dublin Township.

State police accused Martin of grabbing a phone out of the hand of a 42-yearold woman and throwing it at her. The victim was struck in the face.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 26, at 11:30 p.m. when Martin argued with the woman about whom she was speaking to on the phone. Charges against Martin will be filed through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne.

Retail Theft Reported

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg investigated a case of retail theft that occurred at the Sheetz convenience store in Mc- Connellsburg on Tuesday, March 26. According to reports, an unknown individual pumped $ 10.01 in kerosene and left the store without paying at 9:23 a.m. Anyone having further information linked to this case should contact state police Trooper Falkosky at 717-485- 3131.

Passenger Injured In Interstate Accident

A passenger in a westbound 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse suffered minor injuries during an accident along Interstate 70.

Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg reported Loni L. Brown, 40, of North Royalton, Ohio, was injured on Monday, March 25, while riding in a vehicle operated by Brian D. Svab, 43, also of North Royalton. Svab lost control of his car while changing lanes, police said. The car then struck a rocky embankment with its front right side.

Svab and Brown were both wearing seat belts. Brown did not require transport to a medical facility.

State police will charge Svab with failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Driver Cited In I-70 Crash

A Bolivar, Pa., man faces charges of failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic following a single-vehicle accident on Monday, March 25, along Interstate 70.

Fifty-five-year-old Martin Kokoski was travelling eastbound near the Mill Hill Road overpass when he lost control of his 2011 Kia Sol at 4:30 a.m. The vehicle struck an embankment, and following impact travelled across both lanes of traffic and into the median strip, state police reported.

Kokoski was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Car Strikes Utility Pole

A Waterfall man was not injured when his westbound 1993 Honda Civic struck a telephone pole along Lincoln Highway last Monday morning. State police stated 24- year-old Mark A. Roberts was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred at 6:50 a.m. in Brush Creek Township near the intersection of White Deer Lane. He will be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.

Business Windows Broken

Two glass windows were shot out of the storefront of Hustontown Country Market located at 8933 Waterfall Road in Dublin Township. A pellet gun is suspected to have been used during the mischief that occurred on Thursday, March 21, at 9:07 p.m.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious vehicles or activity in the area of the market or across the road at Keller’s Country Store should immediately contact state police Trooper Huff at 717-485-3131.

Accident On Lincoln Highway

State police in Mc- Connellsburg are continuing their investigation into an accident that occurred on Monday, April 1, along Lincoln Highway.

Reports indicate an unknown vehicle attempted to pass a truck tractor pulling a semitrailer at 7 a.m. in Licking Creek Township. The vehicle pulled into the opposing lane and into the path of a 1984 Ford Ranger driven by James A. Arcq, 27, of Chambersburg. Arcq, police said, lost control of his Ford truck, which travelled onto the northern berm, struck an embankment and rolled over. The unknown vehicle continued without stopping.

Police noted Arcq was not wearing a seat belt but escaped injury.
