Edgar Lee Swisher, 76, Hancock, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his home.

Born March 26, 1937, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late George E. and Lillian Pittman Swisher.

He was a 1956 graduate of Hancock High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.

He was retired from Mack Truck after 31 years, working in maintanence.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Hull Swisher, whom he married June 21, 1963, in Hagerstown, Md.; one daughter, Shea Lee Hart of Hancock; one son, Corey L. Swisher of Hancock; two brothers: Norman Swisher of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Ronald Swisher of Hagerstown, Md.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Heavenly Blockinger.

Services will be held Thursday April 4, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Victory Tabernacle, Hedgesville, W.Va. Rev. Carl Clark will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Wednesday, April 3, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, to help defray funeral expenses, memorial contributions may be made to the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, MD 21750-0368.
